Disabling Ableism at MTSA Conference 2024

Published: Monday March 4, 2024

On February 21, 2024 I had the honor to kick-off the Michigan Transition Services Association’s annual conference “MTSA Conference 2024” in Michigan’s State Capital at the Lansing Center as the opening keynote.
MTSA is a group dedicated to providing support to their members who assist students and young adults with disabilities as they transition through school to achieve their post-school goals.
Having the opportunity to speak directly to those who are making daily impacts in the lives of my peers in the disabled community: the educators, agency personnel, parents, individuals with disabilities themselves, and the caregivers who attended the conference is something I highly regard.
Thank you, MTSA for the tribute to the work I’m doing and selecting me to deliver my speech “The Heart of Inclusion” as well as my microlearning series “Disabling Ableism: The modern pathway to inclusion.” at your conference.

The positive feedback from the over 2,000 attendees, the care and support throughout the organizing process and the knowledge I learned about the work of the MTSA made the trip well worth the trek out to Michigan in the winter. I look forward to the next time I get to return and to hearing of the continuing strong work by MTSA for the people of Michigan.
