From Lived Experience to Lasting Change: The Power of Disability Storytelling

Published: Saturday May 31, 2025

Advocacy isn’t just about policies, statistics, or corporate initiatives. At its core, It’s about people.

It’s about real, lived experiences that challenge perspectives and stimulate action. Facts may educate, but stories?

Stories transform the way we understand the world in so many ways.We move beyond awareness into empathy, and from empathy into action.

Storytelling gives a voice to those who have been overlooked. It turns abstract concepts into lived truths. And lived truths into personal connections and understanding.

It reminds the world that in this case, disability isn’t just a checkbox in a DEI initiative, rather it’s a lived common identity, a community, a force that shapes our world.

Cultivating human connection, understanding, inclusion with a little fun along the way, thats the business Marty and I are in. Marsten Anderson
