I am deeply honored to share that The Alycia Anderson Company, LLC has been named to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 CO—100 list, recognizing America’s Top 100 Small Businesses. This prestigious list celebrates small and mid-sized businesses across the country for their innovation, growth, and impact in their communities and industries.
Being included in this group of entrepreneurs and change-makers is incredibly meaningful to me—not just because of the recognition, but because of the journey that led here.
Turning Curiosity Into Action
My work has always been rooted in advocacy—helping organizations understand disability inclusion, accessibility, and the power of lived experience as leadership. Through keynotes, consulting, and training, The Alycia Anderson Company helps organizations turn awareness into real action.
But in 2024, a new question began to emerge in my work.
When I was appointed to the California Department of Insurance’s Insurance Diversity Task Force, I began learning more deeply about supplier diversity and the importance of ensuring that diverse businesses have access to economic opportunity.
As someone who spends much of her time advocating for equity in the workplace, I realized something important:
If I wanted to understand the process of becoming a diverse supplier—and the opportunities it creates—I needed to experience it myself.
Learning the System From the Inside
So I did what many entrepreneurs do when they’re stepping into new territory.
I started learning.
I worked closely with my local Small Business Development Center (SBDC), leaning into their expertise to understand the certification landscape and what it means to participate in supplier diversity programs.
The process was not something I rushed. Instead, I treated it as an education.
From 2024 into 2025, I committed time and intention to navigating the steps, understanding the documentation, and learning how certification programs work. The experience itself became part of my leadership journey as a business owner.
Becoming a Certified Diverse Supplier
Through this process, The Alycia Anderson Company has proudly achieved multiple certifications:
- Women-Owned Business Certification through WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council)
- Disability-Owned Business Enterprise Certification through Disability:IN
These certifications represent more than a designation.
They represent participation in a larger ecosystem of businesses that are helping redefine what inclusion looks like in the marketplace.
For me, it also reinforced something I deeply believe:
The best way to advocate for change is often to engage directly with the systems you hope to improve.
A Small Business With a Big Mission
Since launching my company in 2020, my mission has been simple but powerful:
To help organizations see disability differently.
As a lifelong wheelchair user and former Silicon Valley technology executive, I bring both lived experience and business leadership to the work I do—helping companies embed accessibility, challenge ableism, and lead inclusively.
Being recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce CO—100 program, selected from thousands of applicants nationwide, is a powerful validation that purpose-driven businesses belong in the national conversation about innovation and growth.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
This recognition belongs to many people.
To the mentors and advisors who helped guide me through the certification process.
To the Small Business Development Center that helped me navigate new territory.
To the organizations that have trusted me to speak, teach, and partner with them on inclusion.
And to the disability community—whose voices, stories, and leadership continue to shape the work I do every day.
This moment is not just a milestone.
It’s a reminder that small businesses have the power to drive meaningful change, and that when we center inclusion, accessibility, and equity in how we build companies, we expand what’s possible for everyone.
And that’s exactly how I plan to keep pushing forward.
