I’m thrilled to share some exciting news. I’ve been featured in the May/June 2025 issue of Action Magazine! This opportunity was such a special moment of reflection, gratitude, and celebration. It allowed me to pause and answer some very personal, fun, and empowering questions about who I am both professionally and personally.

The Interview: A Glimpse into My World

In this feature, I was asked: What are five things you can’t live without?
My answer was simple and honest because it came straight from the heart.

  1. My wheelchair – It’s more than mobility; it’s my independence, my confidence, my freedom to move through the world on my terms.
  2. My husband Marty – My rock, my biggest cheerleader, and the tech genius behind-the-scenes at every speaking event.
  3. Fitness & wheelchair tennis – My anchors for strength, grounding, and embracing my competitive fire.
  4. My business and advocacy work – These are not just my passions they’re extensions of my soul.
  5. My purpose – Waking up every day to help shift mindsets and open doors for others is what fuels me.

I also shared my life motto:

“Believe in possible.”
It’s a simple phrase, but it’s the heartbeat of everything I do. It’s the reminder that every barrier is a chance to build a bridge. That what makes us different, also makes us powerful.

More Than Just the Work

The interview also asked some more playful, but equally telling questions like my favorite color (nudes, of course!), favorite food (hello, Granny’s Sicilian pasta!), and my favorite place I’ve traveled (Paris for the Paralympics… magique!).

And of course, I gave a huge shoutout to Milo, my beloved Maltese-Shih Tzu, who is part confidant, part travel buddy, and 100% my bestie.

The Journey So Far

From growing up with sacral agenesis to standing on the TEDx stage, from building The Alycia Anderson Company to launching the Pushing Forward with Alycia podcast, every chapter has been about challenging perceptions and expanding what inclusion can look like.

Being featured in Action Magazine was more than a spotlight it was an affirmation that these conversations matter. That disability is diversity. And that representation in media, business, and leadership is long overdue and incredibly powerful.

What’s Next?

I’m continuing to expand my impact:

  • More global speaking engagements
  • A nonfiction book that tells my story to inspire inclusive leadership
  • An upcoming e-learning course on accessibility and inclusive workplace culture
  • Exciting growth through the Adaptive Athletics Association

And of course, continuing to uplift incredible voices on my podcast and partnering with organizations that want to lead inclusion authentically.

A Final Word

To every young disabled person dreaming big, to every ally looking to learn, and to every company ready to grow:

The world needs your voice. The world needs inclusion. And the world is better when we all push forward together.

Thank you, Action Magazine, for giving me the space to tell my story and share my heart.
