What a way to close my 2022 speaking tour! Last week in Memphis at The DEI Summit 2022 was EVERYTHING.
American CivilRights History, culture, learning, food, music, travel, and NETWORKING!
In attendance DEI practitioners, DEI executives, experts and thought leaders in the DEI space from companies like Google, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Victoria Secret s, NBCUniversal, Detroit Pistons, Siemens, Delta Air Lines, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital etc…the list is long and impressive to say the least.
Having the opportunity to meet these thought leaders in person and learn from their perspectives was simply amazing! To hear their stories, listen to the issues that they feel are at top of concerns in the field and to embed myself in these discussions with them gave me a renewed sense of belonging and purpose
On top of all of this, to have the opportunity to share my message of disability inclusion in the workplace to this group was a very BIG deal. #representation matters
The reality is there is a TON of work ahead for disability inclusion to find a consistent, permanent and rightful place in DEI.
I look forward to my advocacy work in 2023 to continue driving the culture changes in the workplace that are needed to ensure disability inclusion and accessibility in the DEI space, conversations and initiatives going into the future.
P.S. If you’re a DEI Practitioner you should attend next year!
