It’s been 32 years since the passing of The Americans with Disabilities Act.
This legislation and the story behind it, is right up there with the historical stories about human freedom we all know of including, The Civil Rights Act and Woman’s Suffrage.
The ADA activists paved the way for the first opportunities of inclusion of people with disabilities in the United States.
I am forever grateful for their effots and they are my inspiration today. Their fortitude and perseverance act as a true guide in my advocacy to further integration and complete acceptance for all of us.
Through their efforts I have found my voice and use my voice to demonstrate possible on the many stages I am so honored to be on.
We need to lift up ADA, protect it and EXPAND it always. They’re OUR rights as humans and Americans.
